Her loft-style apartment is right in Brooklyn, where eco-friendliness is intertwined with artistic expression. Walls gently infused with earthen tones are finished with a clay-based paint that works naturally with the environment, controlling humidity. The handmade wooden bookshelves are by Laurent and built entirely from salvaged timber. These line one side of the living room, displaying her collection of handmade ceramics and little found objects.<\/span><\/p>\n Most noticeable is the central fireplace made from reclaimed stone. \u201cFireplaces, more than anything, evoke an elemental charm. The reclaimed wooden floor was sourced and given a new life by artisan Camille Devereaux, whose practice involves nurturing materials forgotten long ago. The custom linen draperies filter in just the right amount of light, while the handcrafted wool mats give warmth underfoot.
